California 37 is the sixth studio album from Train, the California band who had already built a catalogue stretching back to their self-titled debut in 1996. It came out on 13 April 2012 in Friday-release countries and arrived in the United States four days later, through Columbia Records. It followed 2009's Save Me, San Francisco, and the lead single, "Drive By", appeared that January.

The record matters in the band's story as the last to feature drummer Scott Underwood, who left in 2014, and the last recorded as a three-piece. Its pop rock leanings make it a useful marker of where Train stood before the line-up changed, ahead of Bulletproof Picasso in 2014. If you know the band mainly through "Drive By", this is the album to hear that single in context.
