Album
In Requiem
In Requiem is the eleventh studio album by Paradise Lost, the British gothic metal band, and came out in May 2007 on Century Media. Rhys Fulber produced it, and Seth Siro Anton of Septicflesh, the Greek metal band, created the artwork. It follows the self-titled record of 2005 and precedes Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us in 2009.
The record is worth hearing for Nick Holmes's return to harsh vocals, a style he last used on Icon. "Sedative God" was originally intended for the previous album but was not recorded in time, so it found its home here. Drummer Jeff Singer, who had played on the earlier record, was not an official member until the first single, "The Enemy". He left a year after this album appeared. The song title "Praise Lamented Shade" borrows from Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism.
