The Ghost of a Future Dead
The Ghost of a Future Dead is the eighth studio album from At the Gates, the Swedish melodic death metal band. It came out on 24 April 2026 on Century Media, following The Nightmare of Being from 2021.
This is a record of significant moments for the band. It brings co-founding guitarist Anders Björler back to the line-up for the first time since At War with Reality in 2014. It also holds the last recordings of vocalist Tomas Lindberg, who laid down his parts shortly before his death in 2025. For anyone who has followed the group from the early 1990s, through Slaughter of the Soul and the return that began with At War with Reality, that makes it a weighty listen as well as a new chapter in the story.
