NOFX
NOFX formed in Los Angeles in 1983 and stayed independent throughout, never signing to a major label. Fat Mike (bass and lead vocals), Eric Melvin (rhythm guitar) and Erik Sandin (drums) were the founding core and appear on every release. Sandin left briefly in 1985 and rejoined the following year. El Hefe arrived in 1991 on lead guitar and trumpet, completing the line-up most fans know best.
Their sound sits across skate punk, melodic hardcore and pop punk. Punk in Drublic, from 1994, brought them wider attention and remains their only gold-certified release. White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean, Heavy Petting Zoo and So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes are also among the records people return to most. They went on to make fifteen studio albums, ending with Double Album in December 2022, and the band retired in October 2024 after a farewell tour. Along the way they hosted their own Fuse show, NOFX: Backstage Passport, in 2008.
