Surfer

Surfer is a 2001 EP from NOFX, released on 10 April 2001 through Fat Wreck Chords, the label run by frontman Fat Mike. It runs to about 13 minutes, and the first 500 copies were pressed on blue vinyl before black pressings took over.

It was made in the same spirit as the band's Fuck the Kids EP. Fat Mike wrote every song in a hurry, reportedly allowing himself ten minutes apiece, and the others only learned them on the day of recording. Two full days in the studio were enough, which makes it one of the band's quickest jobs bar Fuck the Kids. The sleeve, painted by Mark deSalvo, and its lyric sheet nod to Bad Religion's Suffer, down to the etched message about humanity having to "surf". Later, it turned up on the second disc of 45 or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough to Go on Our Other Records, minus one track.
