Single Album
Single Album is the fourteenth studio album by NOFX, released on 26 February 2021 through Fat Wreck Chords. The California punk band had gone nearly five years without a studio record, since First Ditch Effort in 2016, which is the longest gap in their catalogue. They hadn't been silent in between, though. A run of one-off singles appeared, along with West Coast vs. Wessex in 2020, a split release on which they covered five Frank Turner songs.
The title has a story behind it. The album was first planned as a double, but the COVID-19 pandemic led the band to put out just one record. Fat Mike has also said the intended second disc didn't get a positive response, so it was dropped. A follow-up, Double Album, arrived in 2022. For fans of their fast, melodic skate punk, this is a record that shows where the band stood after a long wait.
