Jugulator
Jugulator is the thirteenth studio album by Judas Priest, released on 16 October 1997. It arrived seven years after Painkiller and marked a big change in the band's story: Rob Halford had left in 1992, and Tim "Ripper" Owens stepped in as lead vocalist. It was the first of two studio albums he made with the group.
The record leans towards the heavier, thrash-tinged end of the band's heavy metal sound, which makes it an interesting listen for anyone following Priest through the 1990s. It has also had an awkward life since release. Because of the record label's bankruptcy and complicated rights issues, it has never appeared on any major digital media website. It did return on physical formats in October 2021, as part of the 50 Heavy Metal Years of Music box set.
