Album
Nostradamus
Nostradamus is the sixteenth studio album by Judas Priest, and it was released on 16 June 2008. It is the English band's first double album and their first concept record, following the life story of the famed seer across its two discs. The sound leans into symphonic metal, a notable stretch for a group so firmly associated with straight-ahead heavy metal.
It also marks the end of an era. This was the last studio album with the Painkiller-era line-up, as founding guitarist K. K. Downing left in April 2011. The record had been announced for late 2006, then slipped to 2007, before it finally arrived. Priest took it on the road with the Metal Masters Tour alongside Motörhead, Heaven & Hell and Testament in August 2008, followed by a world tour across 2008 and 2009. It is the band at their most ambitious.
