Homewreckers & Heartbreakers
Homewreckers & Heartbreakers is the fifth album by the English rock band the Quireboys, released in June 2008 on Jerkin' Crocus. It arrived in the middle of a busy second act for the group, following Well Oiled in 2004 and From Tooting to Barking in 2005, and sitting just ahead of Halfpenny Dancer in 2009.
The record has been described as edging towards the style of AC/DC, so expect straight-ahead, no-nonsense rock. One song, "Mona Lisa Smiled", takes its inspiration from the life and death of Salvador Dalí and his wife Gala, an unusual subject for a band of this sort and a good reason to listen closely to the lyrics. In 2018 the album was reissued to mark its tenth anniversary, with five live songs added.
