Halfpenny Dancer is an acoustic album from the English rock band the Quireboys, released on 31 March 2009. Rather than offering a set of new material, it recasts the band's own songs in stripped-back form, with Chris Corney producing.
It arrived the year after Homewreckers & Heartbreakers and several years into the band's second life, which brought a steady run of studio records. The original edition held 13 songs and was limited to 1000 copies. A deluxe package followed with a new design and two extra tracks, "Halfpenny Dancer" and "Have A Drink With Me". For listeners who know the Quireboys as a rowdy, full-volume act, it is a chance to hear how the songs hold up without the amplifiers.
