The Best of Judas Priest: Living After Midnight

Popularity25.5

The Best of Judas Priest: Living After Midnight is a compilation of the band's hits, drawing on records from Killing Machine (released in the United States as Hell Bent for Leather) in 1978 through to Painkiller in 1990. It came out in 1998, with a US release on 3 February that year through Columbia.

The selection reflects the band's Sony and Columbia catalogue, so nothing from their first two albums, Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings of Destiny, appears here. Those were recorded for Gull Records, and the band no longer owned the rights. What you get instead is a tidy run through the heavy metal years that took in British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance, Turbo and Painkiller, which makes it a handy way into the group's most celebrated stretch.
