Last Words: The Final Recordings
Last Words: The Final Recordings is the eighth and last studio album by the American rock band Screaming Trees, released on 2 August 2011. It follows Dust, after which Epic Records dropped the band, and was recorded in 1998 and 1999 in the studio belonging to Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard.
The group split in 2000, and with singer Mark Lanegan unwilling to perform with the band, the record stayed on the shelf. Drummer Barrett Martin eventually put it out on his own label, Sunyata Records. Reviews were mixed, but for anyone who followed the band from Clairvoyance through Sweet Oblivion and Dust, it closes their story with the last songs they made together.
