Ocean of Confusion is a compilation by Screaming Trees, released in May 2005 on Epic. It is the grunge band's third best-of collection, and it picks up the story where they joined Epic, running through to their last album, Dust. Their earlier years on SST are covered separately by Anthology: SST Years 1985-1989, so this one is the major-label chapter.

Singer Mark Lanegan chose the tracks himself and oversaw the rest of the package. Seven songs come from Sweet Oblivion, five from Dust and three from Uncle Anesthesia, alongside "Who Lies in Darkness" from the Something About Today EP and "E.S.K.", a b-side to "Nearly Lost You". The draw for devoted fans is two previously unheard tracks from the abandoned Don Fleming-produced follow-up to Sweet Oblivion. Two of the band's four charting radio singles, "Bed of Roses" and "All I Know", are left off.
