Something About Today

Something About Today is the Screaming Trees' major label debut and their third EP, released in 1990 on Epic Records. The title track also served as a single, and the band's neo-psychedelic take on grunge was now on a bigger stage. Charles Peterson, a well-known music photographer, shot the pictures for it.

It works as a bridge to what came next. Their first full album for Epic, Uncle Anesthesia, followed in 1991, and both "Uncle Anesthesia" and "Ocean of Confusion" were reused there. "Who Lies in Darkness" turned up later on the Ocean of Confusion collection, while the "Numb Inversion Version" of the title track has never appeared elsewhere, which gives collectors a reason to track it down. On vinyl, all the songs sit on side A, and side B carries etchings made by the band.
