Infernal Overkill
Infernal Overkill is the debut studio album by Destruction, the German thrash metal band. It came out on 24 May 1985, with a US release the same year on Enigma. It opens a discography that has kept growing ever since, running through Eternal Devastation in 1986 and Release From Agony in 1987, and on to Birth of Malice in 2025.
For anyone tracing how thrash took hold in Germany in the mid-1980s, this is where Destruction's story starts. It is the record to put on if you want to hear the band before the long career that followed. A re-release arrived on 23 February 2018, which makes it easy to find for a new generation of listeners.
