The Least Successful Human Cannonball
The Least Successful Human Cannonball is the fifth studio album by Destruction, the German thrash metal band, and it came out in 1998 on Brain Butcher Compact. Its genre is listed as groove metal, a long way from the band's thrash roots. It arrived nine years after Cracked Brain, the fourth album in their catalogue.
This record closed a chapter. It was the last album with Thomas Rosenmerkel on vocals and the third and final release of the band's "Neo-Destruction" period. Destruction later disowned everything recorded with Rosenmerkel, so these releases no longer count as part of their official discography. That makes the album a curiosity, worth hearing for anyone who wants to follow the band's story through its more contested years, before the run that began with All Hell Breaks Loose in 2000.
