Twitch
Twitch is the second studio album by Ministry, the American industrial band fronted by Al Jourgensen. It came out on 12 March 1986 on Sire Records, and it marks a sharp turn away from the synthpop of their 1983 debut, With Sympathy. The sound here is darker and more aggressive, shaped by the industrial dance of Cabaret Voltaire and Front 242.
Most of it was recorded in London and West Berlin during 1985. On-U Sound founder Adrian Sherwood produced the bulk of the record, with Jourgensen co-producing two tracks. "Over the Shoulder" led the way, backed by a video from Peter Christopherson. The North American tour that followed was the first to feature Paul Barker on bass and Bill Rieflin on drums. Reviews were mixed at the time, but it is a revealing record to hear for the moment Ministry began leaving their early style behind.
