Changesbowie
Changesbowie is a David Bowie compilation that appeared on 12 March 1990 through EMI. In the US it was handled by Rykodisc, and it took its place in that label's remastered Bowie reissue programme. It replaced two earlier RCA compilations, Changesonebowie and Changestwobowie, which had been deleted, so it became the single-disc overview of his work for a new generation of buyers.
Its genres span pop rock, glam rock and art rock, which fits the range of Bowie's career up to that point. That career ran from the self-titled debut in 1967 through Ziggy Stardust, Young Americans, Low and Let's Dance, and a compilation like this gives you a quick way to hear how far he travelled. It suits anyone who wants a tidy way into the records before choosing which albums to explore in full.
