Christiane F.: Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo
Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo is a soundtrack album by David Bowie, released in 1981 on LP through RCA Records. It accompanies the film about Christiane F., whose German title translates as "We children of Zoo Station", a reference to the railway station in Berlin. A CD reissue followed through EMI in 2001.
The record sits just after Scary Monsters… and Super Creeps and just before Let's Dance in Bowie's catalogue, and it ties his name to the city of Berlin. For anyone tracing his career through the turn of the decade, it offers a different angle on that stretch, one shaped by a film rather than a conventional studio project.
