The Art of Rebellion
The Art of Rebellion is the sixth studio album by Suicidal Tendencies, the American crossover thrash band. It came out in June 1992 on Epic Records, following Lights… Camera… Revolution (1990) and preceding Still Cyco After All These Years (1993). Its sound sits across alternative metal, funk metal and thrash, a looser blend than the band's earliest work.
It is an unusual entry in their catalogue: the only Suicidal Tendencies record made without an official drummer. Josh Freese played the drum parts, stepping in after R.J. Herrera left. It is also the band's most commercially successful studio album, and it holds their only two top 40 hits, "Nobody Hears" and "I'll Hate You Better". Start with those two, then hear how the album carries the band's metal, funk and punk-bred energy into the 1990s.
