Still Not Black Enough

Released5 October 1995
Popularity39.3

Still Not Black Enough is the sixth studio album by the American heavy metal band W.A.S.P., released on 5 October 1995. It follows The Crimson Idol, and it shares much of that record's lyrical weight, though it drops the story of the fictional Jonathan in favour of something more personal.

Blackie Lawless first planned it as a solo album, then decided the heavy subject matter belonged under the W.A.S.P. name, just as he had with its predecessor. The songs deal with the death of his mother and with the personal crises that followed the world tour for The Crimson Idol. If you know that earlier record, this is its more confessional follow-up, and it is worth hearing for that candid, inward turn.
