Helldorado
Helldorado is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band W.A.S.P., released on 18 May 1999 through Victor. It follows Kill Fuck Die from 1997 and comes before Unholy Terror in 2001, placing it in the late-nineties stretch of a catalogue that began with the band's self-titled debut in 1984.
What gives the record its character is the mood behind it. Blackie Lawless has described it as a rebellion against the darkness of its predecessor, a deliberate step out of that pit and into a celebration. He talks about it as getting freedom and life back, and that spirit of release is the way into the album. If you know W.A.S.P. for the weight of The Crimson Idol or the bluntness of Kill Fuck Die, this is the sound of the band shaking all that off and letting loose in a hard rock and heavy metal setting.
