Album
So‐Called Chaos
So-Called Chaos is Alanis Morissette's sixth studio album, and the fourth to be released internationally. It came out on 18 May 2004 through Maverick Records, two years after Under Rug Swept. The lead single, "Everything", arrived in April, and "Out Is Through" and "Eight Easy Steps" followed later in the year.
Reviews at the time were mixed. Some critics heard her most accessible record since Jagged Little Pill, while others found its messages muddled and felt she had lost the spark that made her a defining voice of the 1990s. It entered the Billboard 200 at number five, her first international studio album not to top that chart. For anyone tracing her career after the breakthrough years, it is a revealing stop, with a rock and pop sound that divided opinion.
