The Best of the Ramones
The Best of the Ramones is a compilation released on 25 May 2004 by Disky. It is a re-release of the 2002 collection Best of the Chrysalis Years, given a new title, a new cover and a reshuffled track order. It was not made available in the United States.
For anyone tracing the band's story, it sits as a budget-minded repackaging rather than a new project, drawing on the Chrysalis period of a career that ran from the self-titled debut in 1976 to ¡Adios Amigos! in 1995. It is a punk rock selection, and the resequencing is the main thing that sets it apart from its earlier incarnation. A handy way in for a casual listener, though devoted fans will likely already know the material from the original albums.
