Chikara is a compilation by the American rock band KISS, released on Polystar on 25 May 1988. The title is the Japanese word for "power", which points to the record's intended audience in Japan. It is filed under hard rock and glam metal, two labels that suit the band's sound in the later part of the 1980s.

It arrived between Crazy Nights, which came out in 1987, and Hot in the Shade, which followed in 1989. That places it in the middle of the band's polished, melodic phase, after the early albums of the 1970s and the run of records that began with Creatures of the Night in 1982. For a fan who wants a snapshot of KISS in that period, or a curiosity from a Japanese label for the shelf, it is a neat piece of the band's wider story.
