Album
Animalize
Animalize is the twelfth studio album by American rock band KISS, released on 13 September 1984. It followed Lick It Up from 1983 and came ahead of Asylum in 1985, placing it in the band's run of records made after they had stepped away from the Casablanca era of the 1970s.
The record is the only one to feature lead guitarist Mark St. John, who stepped in for Vinnie Vincent in April 1984. That makes it a curiosity in the KISS catalogue, a snapshot of a line-up that did not last. For anyone tracing how the band moved through the mid-eighties, with its harder, glam-tinged metal edge, it is a useful record to hear in sequence.
