Alive II
Alive II is KISS's second live album, released in October 1977 on Casablanca. It followed the 1975 release Alive! and arrived after three studio albums, Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over and Love Gun, so the band had a fresh batch of songs to draw on. Eddie Kramer produced.
It sits at the peak of the band's 1970s run, a snapshot of a group with a bigger catalogue to play with than first time round. It is one of the best sellers in their discography, and it became their first album certified double platinum, in February 1996, the same month the reunion tour was announced. If you know only the first Alive!, this is the one that shows how much the set had grown.
