Beneath the Eyrie
Beneath the Eyrie is the seventh studio album by Pixies, released on 13 September 2019 on Infectious Music. It follows Indie Cindy and Head Carrier, the records that marked the American alternative rock band's return to making new albums, and it came before Doggerel in 2022. Tom Dalgety produced, and the singles "On Graveyard Hill" and "Catfish Kate" went out ahead of it.
What sets it apart is where it was made. The band recorded at Dreamland Recording Studios, a remote converted church in upstate New York, and the Gothic surroundings seeped into the writing and the sessions. Black Francis said he wanted to mingle with the spirit world, with life and death and a more surreal landscape. If you like your Pixies with a spooky, mystical edge, this is the one to put on after dark.
