Fear Inoculum
Fear Inoculum is the fifth studio album by the American progressive metal band Tool, released on 30 August 2019 through RCA. It followed 10,000 Days (2006), and the gap of 13 years came down to creative, personal and legal difficulties the members faced along the way. For a band with a catalogue as compact as Undertow, Ænima, Lateralus and 10,000 Days, its arrival was a real event.
Reviewers largely agreed that Tool had refined the sound they were already known for, and the album was met with critical acclaim. It went to number one on the US Billboard 200, their third chart-topper in a row, with more than 270,000 album-equivalent units, and it topped five other national charts in its first week. The title track was nominated for Best Rock Song at the Grammys, while "7empest" won Best Metal Performance.
