Yesterday Went Too Soon
Yesterday Went Too Soon is the second studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder, following their debut Polythene in 1997. It came out in August 1999, with a UK and European release on 8 October 1999 through Play It Again Sam. The record entered the UK chart at number 8, and its title track gave the band their first top 20 single. Four singles from it reached the top 50 in all.
The album also brought Feeder their first appearances on Top of the Pops, helping set up the breakthrough that Echo Park completed in 2001. Sales were slow to catch up: it went Silver in April 2001 and Gold in March 2003, once Comfort in Sound had widened the band's audience. Oddly, it never had an American release, even though "High" had made an impression there and the band toured the States heavily. Elektra pressed promotional copies, then declined to distribute it. For anyone tracing how Feeder got from their early days to the big albums, it's the key middle chapter.
