Remission and Bites
Remission and Bites is a 1987 compilation from Skinny Puppy, released on Play It Again Sam. It brings together material from two of the band's early records, Remission, which came out in 1984, and Bites, which followed in 1985. Many of the songs are the same ones found on those albums, though here they sit in a different context.
For anyone wanting the early Skinny Puppy industrial sound on disc, it has a particular value: it remains the only CD pressing of those first two releases in their original form. The audio is free of any song-splicing or bonus tracks, so the music is presented as it first appeared. The inserts, however, have a number of shortcomings, so this is one for the sound rather than the packaging.
