Rabies
Rabies is the fifth studio album by Skinny Puppy, released on 21 November 1989 through Nettwerk. It arrived between VIVIsectVI and Too Dark Park, and it sits in the industrial and electronic corner of the band's catalogue with a stronger rock edge than usual. The sleeve was designed by Steven R. Gilmore, a longtime collaborator of the group.
The big talking point is the guest appearance of Ministry's Al Jourgensen, credited as Alien Jourgensen, who plays electric guitar and sings on several tracks. Two singles came from the record, "Tin Omen" and "Worlock", and the latter became one of the band's best-known songs. Critics were divided at the time, with several comparing the sound to Ministry's, for better or worse, but it sold well. The CD was reissued in 1993 to fix mastering errors in the original pressing.
