Remission

Remission began in 1984 as a six-track 12-inch EP from Skinny Puppy, the Canadian electro-industrial band. It was their first release on Nettwerk and their label debut, so it marks the point where the group's story properly begins to take shape.

A year later, in 1985, it appeared on cassette with five extra songs, stretching it to album length. That longer edition became the standard version, which is why it now sits among the band's studio albums, just ahead of Bites. For anyone tracing how Skinny Puppy's industrial and electronic sound took hold, with a hint of synth-pop in the mix, this is the place to start. Music Canada certified it gold on 31 January 2000.
