Doomsday: Back and Forth, Volume 5: Live in Dresden
Doomsday: Back and Forth, Volume 5: Live in Dresden is a live album by Skinny Puppy, released on 21 August 2001 on Nettwerk. It is also known as Brap: Doomsday: Back and Forth Volume 5: Live in Dresden, and it sits in the band's long-running Back and Forth series of live releases. The material comes from the electro and industrial group's set at the Doomsday Festival in Dresden, Germany, on 20 August 2000.
The date is what gives the record its weight. The show marked the reunion of cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre, and it was the band's first concert since 1992. It was also their first in Europe since 1988 and the first they had ever played in the former East Germany. Studio work followed with Puppy Gristle in 2002, while regular touring did not resume until 2004's The Greater Wrong of the Right Tour. For anyone curious about the band's return, this is the document of it.
