Remix Dystemper
Remix Dystemper is a collection of Skinny Puppy tracks reworked by a range of other artists, released in October 1998 on Nettwerk UK. It arrived two years after The Process, the band's most recent studio album at that point, and gives their industrial sound a fresh going-over from outside hands rather than adding a new chapter of original material.
The remixes have had a long afterlife on screen. Hiwatt's take on "Rodent" turned up on the Saw II soundtrack and later in the video game LittleBigPlanet 3, while Deftones' version of "Spasmolytic" was used on the Saw IV soundtrack. There is also a curious footnote for collectors: an early pressing shipped in the proper packaging but carried Christian gospel music instead of the remixes. A promo edition ran to just eight tracks.
