Feeder
Feeder are a Welsh rock band whose sound sits between alternative rock, post-Britpop and post-grunge. The group grew out of an earlier act called Reel, formed in 1992 by Grant Nicholas and Jon Lee. Bassist Taka Hirose joined in 1994, the band became Feeder, and they signed to The Echo Label that same year. Their debut album, Polythene, arrived in 1997.
Echo Park, their third record, brought them wider attention in 2001, helped by "Buck Rogers", a Platinum-selling UK top five single. Jon Lee died in January 2002, and Feeder carried on with former Skunk Anansie drummer Mark Richardson, releasing Comfort in Sound that year. Both albums remain among their best known, alongside Polythene and Pushing the Senses. Twelve albums on, with Black/Red released in 2024, they have sold over a million copies at home without ever signing to a major UK label, and entered the Kerrang! Hall of Fame in 2019.
