Album
Sound of White Noise
Sound of White Noise is the sixth studio album by the American heavy metal band Anthrax, released through Elektra in May 1993. It arrived at a moment of real change: John Bush stepped in as vocalist, taking over from longtime frontman Joey Belladonna, who had left the band in 1992.
The record also turned out to be the last studio album with lead guitarist Dan Spitz. Musically, Anthrax eased off the thrash approach of their earlier work and settled into a slower, heavier style. That shift makes it a useful marker in their story, the point where the band chose a new voice and a new direction, and a good place to start if you want to hear how they sounded in the 1990s.
