Live: The Island Years
Live: The Island Years, released on 5 April 1994, is Anthrax's first full-length live album. It arrived through Island and Megaforce Worldwide, and the band had little to do with it: it came about because of contractual obligations to their former label after they had signed with Elektra.
The tracks come from two sources. The first eight are taken from the Live Noize home video, recorded at Irvine Meadows, California, in October 1991. The last four come from a college radio session for WSOU at Electric Lady Studios in January 1992. Joey Belladonna is on vocals, even though John Bush had replaced him by then. The highlight is "Bring the Noise" with Public Enemy, which opens with Flavor Flav tackling "Too Much Posse" over a Charlie Benante beat.
