Bonded by Blood
Bonded by Blood is the debut album from American thrash metal band Exodus, released in April 1985 on Roadrunner Records. The songs were finished in the summer of 1984, but problems between the band and their label kept the record on the shelf for the best part of a year. When it did arrive, it began to look like one of the most influential thrash albums ever made.
It is also the only full-length studio album to feature Paul Baloff on vocals, though he sang on the band's 1982 demo and appears on the 1997 live album Another Lesson in Violence. That gives the record a particular place in the Exodus story. In 2008 the band re-recorded it as Let There Be Blood, with only drummer Tom Hunting and guitarist Gary Holt remaining from the original line-up, but the 1985 version is where to start.
