Shovel Headed Kill Machine is the seventh studio album by the American thrash metal band Exodus, following Tempo of the Damned from 2004. It came out in October 2005, and it marks a real changing of the guard. Rob Dukes makes his debut as vocalist after Steve "Zetro" Souza left during the South American tour for the previous record.

The line-up shifts elsewhere too. Lee Altus steps in on guitar in place of Rick Hunolt, the first time Exodus made a studio album without him. Paul Bostaph takes the drum stool after Tom Hunting left for a second time, owing to the return of the illness that had first led him to depart in 1989. It remains the only Exodus record with Bostaph. For anyone following the band's story, it is the sound of a thrash veteran regrouping and carrying on with a new look.
