1982–1992
1982–1992 is a compilation from the Swedish rock band Europe, released by Epic in April 1993. It gathers a decade of their career, from their 1983 debut through to Prisoners in Paradise in 1991, with singer Joey Tempest choosing the songs himself. That personal selection makes it feel more like a band's own look back than a standard label round-up.
The real draw for fans is the rarities. "On Broken Wings", originally the B-side to "The Final Countdown", is here, alongside "Sweet Love Child" and "Yesterday's News", two songs from the Prisoners in Paradise sessions. The album reached the top 10 on the French compilation charts. It was reissued in 2000 as 1982–2000, adding "The Final Countdown 2000", a remix that some band members were not keen on.
