The Masterplan
The Masterplan is a compilation of Oasis B-sides, gathering songs that had only appeared on singles and never on an album. It was meant at first for places such as the United States and Japan, where those tracks could be had only on pricey European imports. Demand was far wider, though. It reached number 2 in the UK and number 51 in the US, and went on to sell 3 million copies worldwide.
It arrived in November 1998, after Be Here Now, and was the band's last release on Creation Records. For anyone who knew Oasis only through the albums, it fills in a side of the band that sat on the flip of the singles. Four of its songs were later chosen for the 2006 compilation Stop the Clocks. It is now triple platinum in the UK.
