Stop the Clocks is an Oasis compilation, released in November 2006 as an 18-track double album. Noel Gallagher chose the songs himself, so it works as his own look back over the band's career rather than a standard hits round-up.

It arrived after Don't Believe the Truth in 2005 and before Dig Out Your Soul in 2008, a pause in the studio story when the band took stock of what they had built since Definitely Maybe in 1994. For anyone who wants the Oasis catalogue as seen through its main songwriter's eyes, it is a handy place to start. It went on to be certified 5× Platinum in the UK.
