Shaving Peaches
Shaving Peaches is the fourth studio album from Terrorvision, released in November 1998 on Total Vegas Recordings. It followed Regular Urban Survivors and found the band leaning towards chart-friendly pop, with Edwyn Collins sharing production duties. Genre-wise it sits somewhere between pop rock and Britpop.
The big change is in the sound. Terrorvision move further away from their metal roots than before, settling into a soft rock style that even makes room for real electronic beats. Much of the record follows the bright, upbeat template of the single "Tequila", though "Day After Day" and "When I Die" keep hold of the melancholy that ran through their earlier albums. It's worth hearing as the point where the band tried on a lighter, more polished style.
