Archetype
Archetype is the American industrial metal band Fear Factory's album, released on 20 April 2004 through Liquid 8 Records. It was the first record made without guitarist Dino Cazares, so Christian Olde Wolbers took on both bass and guitar. Among the records he named as influences were Slayer's Undisputed Attitude, Rammstein's Mutter and Mnemic's Mechanical Spin Phenomena.
It followed Concrete in the band's run of studio albums and came before Transgression. It debuted at No. 30 on the Billboard 200, still the band's highest chart position. A limited edition digipak added a bonus DVD, either covering the Australian Tour 2004 and the video for "Cyberwaste" or a making-of film. Some copies also held a gold ticket offering the chance to meet the band live.
