Hatefiles
Hatefiles is a compilation from Fear Factory, gathering rare, unreleased and remixed material. Metal Mind Productions is listed as the label, and the album came out in April 2003. Eighteen tracks pull together odds and ends from across the band's career, including cuts from the Linchpin EP, the Cars single and the Burn single from Remanufacture, plus the vinyl-only Gabber Mixes. Dave McKean's artwork is used.
The collection is worth hearing for its glimpses behind the scenes. There are early Colin Richardson mixes of two songs that ended up on Demanufacture, an early demo of Dark Bodies from Digimortal, and a version of a track that mostly features Gary Numan on vocals. "Terminate" is also here, the last song recorded with guitarist Dino Cazares before he returned to the band in 2009. It is a useful stop for fans who want to hear how the songs took shape.
