Concrete

Concrete is a Fear Factory album that arrived a decade late. The American industrial metal band recorded it in 1991, with Ross Robinson producing for the first time, and it was meant to be their debut. The plan fell apart when the band turned down a record contract Robinson put in front of them. He kept the master tapes, the band kept the rights to the songs, and the record stayed on the shelf.

Half of its material was re-recorded for Soul of a New Machine in 1992, so this is a chance to hear those songs in their earlier form. Robinson later sold the tapes to Roadrunner Records, who put the album out in 2002, with the UK and Europe getting it on 2002-07-29. The band members have never agreed on whether it should have been released, but for fans of the early Fear Factory story it fills in a missing chapter.
