Infestation

Infestation is the seventh and final studio album by the American glam metal band Ratt, released in April 2010 on Roadrunner Records. It arrived more than a decade after their self-titled 1999 record and followed the death of guitarist Robbin Crosby in 2002. Carlos Cavazo, formerly of Quiet Riot, took over guitar duties alongside Warren DeMartini.

The band aimed to recapture their early sound. Stephen Pearcy described it as the kind of thing they might have written straight after Out of the Cellar, while DeMartini spoke of an album that could sit between that record and Invasion of Your Privacy. They went for quicker, more uptempo ideas and the twin lead guitars he and Crosby began playing back in 1983. For anyone who loves Ratt's mid-eighties run, it is a record that deliberately returns to that ground. A turbulent period followed, and by 2018 Pearcy was the only original member left.
