Ratt
Ratt's sixth studio album came out on 6 July 1999 on Portrait. It shares its title with the band's earlier self-titled EP, so fans often call it "1999" to tell the two apart. It follows Detonator from 1990 and is the first record to feature bassist Robbie Crane.
The big change here is in the sound. The glam metal of the band's early records gives way to a more blues-influenced hard rock approach, so it makes an interesting listen for anyone who knows Ratt mainly from their 1980s run. It is worth hearing as a snapshot of a band moving in a different direction, and it sits as the last studio album before Infestation arrived in 2010.
