Dancing Undercover
Dancing Undercover is the third studio album by the American glam metal band Ratt, released in September 1986 on Atlantic. It followed Out of the Cellar (1984) and Invasion of Your Privacy (1985), and Beau Hill was once again behind the desk as producer.
The record is built around "Dance", which got a boost from an appearance in the Miami Vice episode "Down for the Count". Videos were also made for "Body Talk", which turned up on the soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy film The Golden Child, and for "Slip of the Lip". The album reached No. 26 on the Billboard 200 and No. 14 on Rolling Stone's album chart, and it went platinum. For anyone tracing how glam metal met television and film in the mid-eighties, it makes a handy snapshot.
